Abstract

This work examines the role of religion in education and society, and the relationship between religion, education and subjectivity production in subordinate groups, particularly among the indigenous and student population. Before that, however, it justifies the validity of the topic at hand in the geopolitical scenery in Riobamba. In order to address the issue, the questions that lead the development of this work are: which is religion’s role in society and, specifically, in education? Does the religious “field” influence the educational “field”? What type subjectivity does both the religious and educational field introduce?
