A preventive leadership approach for the university setting: a plausible experience
Main Article Content
Abstract
Leadership development in Higher Education Programs proposes immediate solutions to situations that every leader faces is a common practice, but according to the author, the theoretical foundation that enables understanding the processes of thinking for decision making is diluted. The paradigm of convergence between the Lonerganian anthropological method, the community of learning of Vygotsky, and the Salesian Preventive System proposal are presented as a plausible approach for the Preventative Leadership formation among the various actors in the university community. A case study of the Salesian University in Mexico using a mixed method approach allows better access to the Leadership among college students from the preventive perspective in an interdisciplinary dialogue. The theorical-practical results proposed and examined as reference also serve as a tool to evaluate, enrich and renew the leader theories, and the leadership development proposal in any University facing a globalized society.
